Tło Żywiec Beskids

Sunrise on Babia Góra

25.05.2015 24.11.2014 at night we went to the Żywiec Beskids with a view to sunrise. Managed to. Analyzing what we experienced at the top then there is actually only one queen and it is definitely Babia Góra (1725 m). She was very kind. She presented us with fantastic views, an almost windless audience and moments that we will not forget for the rest of our lives. Everything started already on Sunday evening. At 22:45 we went on a journey to get to the Krowiarki Pass, from which we were to start. Over 2 hours and we got to the first place. There was one car in the parking lot, which is always open. We packed everything we needed, and it was a lot because of sleeping bags, a blanket, a tent and all other things to survive a frosty morning. The thermometer showed 3 degrees minus. There had to be a few more at the top. 10 minutes later we stood in front of the signpost. The blue trail leading to the hostel in Markowe Szczawiny is closed until further notice. The work is already underway there for about 4 months. Fortunately, everything was all right on our red. We headed sharply up the hill. This is the only section with no views up to Sokolica (1367 m). Then we enter the scenic sky. During the exit, we met with the first crisis. There was a lack of sleep and certainly night time. However, the most important thing is to fight your weaknesses and go to the goal. The trail leads along wooden beams and stones, which were quite slippery. After over an hour we reached the first peak - Sokolica (1367 m). The Babia Góra Massif can be seen very well from this place. A huge plus is that from each top of the massif there are beautiful views. Although Babia Góra is a kind of "specimen" in the Beskids, it is not surprisingly one of the most difficult hills. I would even say that a person who is just starting their hiking trips, and even people with children, can come here. And one thing I am sure of - these views will delight everyone. We were already walking in the company of illuminated valleys and the starry sky. There were so many stars that it was difficult to count them. We knew that the morning must be wonderful. The path in the snow was already well trodden down. After reaching Gówniak (1617 m) we rested a bit on the rocks. There were not many clouds in the valleys yet. Finally, about 4 we reached Babia Góra, or actually Diablak (1725 m) - the highest point of the massif. Most tourists saying Babia Góra has the highest point in mind or Diablak and there is nothing wrong with it, because the name Babia Góra appears in all encountered sources. It was still dark and only the bright glow of the cities made the illusion of the rising sun. A short nap awaited us now in nice sleeping bags and something in the morning :). Angelika fell like long and I couldn't wake her up later. She was a bit sorry to wake her up, but she couldn't miss it. We were not alone on Babia Góra (1725 m). There were a few people besides us, and one couple joined our place next to the wall, tasting our hot tea. It was our 4th visit to "Babia" and it was always windy, because it always blows here, but this time the Beskid queen was gracious and minimal wind, appearing from time to time did not create a feeling of cold. At 7 o'clock it all began and we admired the most beautiful sunrise we have ever seen. And then it already created a bridge from Babia Góra towards the Tatra Mountains. We drove over 2 hours for such moments. For such moments we wandered around the night to make it before dawn. For such moments we were freezing in the multi-degree frost. We have hardly slept for such moments in 24 hours. The best part, however, is that we love it and we can't help it. Tiredness and joy intertwined with each other during the morning, but nowhere could we find words that could express our delight and thoughts. We were glad to be here together. We were like a mountain lagoon. It was all amazing and it will be hard to forget about it. The free time was inevitably coming to an end and we had to come back. As I said, we returned the same route. There was ice in some places, especially when descending from Sokolica to Krowiarki Pass. Crayfish were not needed, poles for small help were enough.
